How to Make the Best Santa Maria Seasoning

This recipe comes from Slothstradamus's food blog and can be found here:

  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
  • Total Time: 5 Minutes

  • 2.5 Tablespoons Kosher Salt
  • 2.5 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Coarse Black Pepper (18 Mesh Preferred)
  • 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1.5 Tablespoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Parsley Flakes
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cayenne Pepper

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small mason jar and shake until the seasoning is well-mixed. Store the seasoning in the mason jar or in a vacuum-sealed bag for longer storage.
  2. When ready to use, generously rub the Santa Maria seasoning mixture all over the surface of your tri-tip, then follow your preferred grilling or cooking method until the meat reaches your desired level of doneness.

*Note: This seasoning mixture will season five tri-tips for a dry brine or as seasoning prior to grilling.
